School Changes, Apprenticeships and University: Navigating Educational Transitions
Jacqueline Klemke · 5 min read
The move to a new school, finishing school, starting an apprenticeship or university – educational transitions shape young people and their families. They bring new expectations, new friendships and often new pressure as well.
What occupies children and teenagers
New teachers, new classmates, new expectations: many young people feel unsure at first. Withdrawing, irritability or sleep problems can be expressions of this adjustment phase.
When it comes to choosing a career or course of study, another question often enters the picture: What do I actually want – and what do others expect of me?
The role of parents
