A Life Crisis as a Turning Point: How Something New Can Emerge

Jacqueline Klemke · 7 min read

Sometimes something we took for granted falls away: a relationship, our health, a job, a life plan. A life crisis feels like standstill. And yet it often holds the seed of a change we would never have dared otherwise.

What makes a life crisis

In a crisis our usual strategies no longer work. That is unsettling and can trigger fear, anger or grief. These feelings aren't weakness but a normal response to an unusual situation.

Finding stability in between

Small routines, movement, reliable people and breaks from brooding provide stability. It helps not to solve everything at once but to take it day by day.

A resource-focused question: which hard times have you already come through – and what helped you then?

The crisis as a turning point

Once the first chaos settles, there's room for new questions: what really matters to me? What do I want to do differently? In systemic coaching I accompany you in finding answers and taking first steps.

If the burden feels overwhelming or you see no way out, please seek medical or therapeutic help; in Germany the Telefonseelsorge is available around the clock on 0800 111 0 111.
